Windows XP Setup


  1. Click on Start, then Control Panel.
  2. Click on Network and Internet Connections to get to the XP Connection Wizard.
  3. Choose the create a connection option or click Network Connections.
  4. Click Create New Connection. Make sure to delete any unused connections so that they don't confuse any of your programs that are used to using that old connection. This will bring up the New Connection Manager.
  5. Click the Next button on the XP Connection Wizard screen.
  6. This screen asks you to select a connection type. Select Connect to the Internet and click Next.
  7. Choose the "Set up my connection manually" option.
  8. Click to choose the Connect using a dial-up modem option then click next.
  9. Name the connection "Network Expert" then click Next.
  10. Type the number of the nearest local Internet access point.
  11. Generally, you want to choose the Anyone's Use selection then click Next.
  12. Put in your username and password. (lowercase) Check the first two checkboxes, then click next.
  13. Click Finish. You are ready to connect to the Internet.
